Position Overview:
Splitrock Farm and Retreat is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded individual to serve as our Camp Store and Farmer’s Markets Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for setting up and managing our on-site Camp and Farm Shop, curating a diverse selection of products ranging from camping essentials to farm-fresh produce and local crafts. Additionally, you will oversee inventory management, scheduling, and operations for the store, as well as manage our presence at the Fallbrook Farmers Market. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend business acumen with a passion for sustainable living and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive product list for the Camp and Farm Shop, including camping items (e.g., firewood, lighters, lanterns), farm products (e.g., fruits, vegetables, honey), local crafts (e.g., wool, tinctures, oils, jewelry), games, and rental equipment (e.g., tents, stoves, space heaters).
- Source and procure products from local vendors, artisans, and suppliers, prioritizing sustainability, quality, and community impact.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and reorder products as needed to ensure sufficient supply and availability for customers.
- Create a welcoming and visually appealing store layout, organizing products in an intuitive and attractive manner to enhance the shopping experience.
- Schedule open hours for the Camp Shop, coordinating staffing and ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.
- Manage appointments for personalized shopping experiences or consultations, providing expert guidance and recommendations to customers as needed.
- Coordinate the setup and operation of the Splitrock Farm and Retreat stand at the Fallbrook Farmers Market, offering the same range of products and services available in the Camp Shop.
- Build and nurture relationships with customers, vendors, and community partners, fostering a sense of connection and loyalty to Splitrock Farm and Retreat.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail management, entrepreneurship, or small business ownership is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
