Farm

About Us

Splitrock Farm and Retreat is a 101-acre property located outside of Fallbrook, CA, and was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over one-million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Owner and land steward, Ben Corbett, plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.

The Area

We are located in De Luz Heights, California – 5 miles from downtown Fallbrook, 14 miles from wine tasting in Temecula, and one mile east of Camp Pendleton Nature Preserve. San Diego and Los Angeles can be reached in 1 – 2.5 hours by car.

The nearby Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve has a large parking lot 3 miles from Splitrock on the way into Fallbrook, which hosts 18 miles of beautiful hiking and equestrian trails along a natural river lined with trees. While there, maybe you can find the local’s swimming hole and tire swing where the river meets the road.

Just 15 miles north of Splitrock, the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Preserve offers miles of trails.

When visiting Splitrock Farm and Retreat, you may hear training from nearby Camp Pendleton, as the coastal and mountain terrain support a variety of military training at the base. Fleet Marine Force units use Camp Pendleton’s ranges and training areas to maintain combat readiness, which can often be heard from campsites throughout the day and sometimes into the evenings.

Please also be aware to keep all pets on leash and children in sight, as there is a variety of wildlife that visit the property frequently, including coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, foxes, snakes, hawks, spiders, and more. Two Great Pyrenees patrol the property. They are sweet, loving dogs to all humans and pets. We also host free-range animals including goats, sheep, and llamas, which may visit your campsite to say hello from time to time.

Please, NO: Hunting, fireworks, firearms, illegal drugs, fires outside of designated fire rings, litter / tossed cigarette butts, fruit picking, or loud music / excessive noise after 10 PM or before 8 AM.
