Friday on the Farm

April 10 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

🌸 Mission Statement

At Splitrock Farm & Retreat, our mission is to nurture the whole child through meaningful connection with nature, community, and purposeful work.

Through hands-on experiences—caring for animals, tending the land, creating with intention, and moving in rhythm with the seasons—we cultivate confidence, curiosity, and a deep sense of belonging.

We strive to create a space where children feel safe to explore, inspired to learn, and supported in becoming capable, compassionate, and grounded individuals.

🌾 Vision Statement

Our vision is to create a childhood rooted in wonder—where children grow up connected to the earth, to one another, and to themselves.

We envision a living learning environment where education is not rushed, but experienced; where imagination is honored; and where children develop resilience, independence, and joy through real, meaningful work.

Through Fridays on the Farm and our Summer Camp programs, we hope to plant seeds that will last a lifetime—fostering a generation of thoughtful, capable humans who carry with them a respect for nature, a love of learning, and a strong inner sense of self.

🌼 Weekly Rhythm Includes:

  • 🐐 Animal care (feeding, cleaning, observing)
  • 🥚 Egg collecting & farm chores
  • 🌱 Gardening (planting, harvesting, tending beds)
  • 🍓 Farm-to-table cooking & nutrition
  • 🎨 Nature-based crafts & handwork
  • 🌿 Ecology & respectful animal treatment
  • 🌞 Outdoor play, exploration, and seasonal activities

Each Friday builds upon the last, allowing children to develop confidence, routine, and a deeper relationship with the land.

🌿 Lindsey Kline

Education Director, Splitrock Farm & Retreat

Lindsey Kline brings over 15 years of experience in education, having taught children from preschool through 8th grade in a variety of settings including public, private, charter, and Waldorf-inspired environments. She has also guided her own children through homeschooling, deepening her understanding of individualized, heart-centered learning.

Lindsey is deeply inspired by Waldorf philosophy and its reverence for childhood. She believes that education should nurture the whole child—head, heart, and hands—while honoring each child’s unique path of development.

Her love of nature is athe core of her work. Whether hiking, gardening, caring for animals, or simply being outdoors, Lindsey weaves the natural world into daily learning experiences. At Splitrock Farm & Retreat, she creates opportunities for children to engage in meaningful, hands-on work that builds confidence, resilience, and a true sense of belonging.

Lindsey is passionate about helping children grow into strong, independent, and free-thinking individuals. She strives to create a warm, supportive environment where children feel seen, capable, and inspired to explore the world around them.
